Becoming the Humans Who Can Birth the Third Attractor

Recently, I had the joy of joining Daniela Bomatter of Manifest Nirvana to explore what it might mean to co-create the Third Attractor — the only viable path forward for civilization in the midst of our converging meta-crises.

Daniel Schmachtenberger’s framing of the Third Attractor has gained notoriety among futurists, integralists, and regenerative pioneers because it is both sobering and clarifying. It lays out the stark developmental and civilizational choices before us:

• First Attractor: regression to tribalism — tightly bonded but fragile, governed by conformity, fear, and rivalry.
• Second Attractor: our current industrial/competitive model — hyper-achieving, expert-driven, but trapped in extraction, arms races, and systemic collapse.
• Third Attractor: a regenerative, omni-considerate civilization where human creativity and innovation serve all life, not just self-interest.

In my conversation with Daniela, we explored what it would take to seed the Third Attractor:

• What kind of village or community might embody these qualities.
• The movement from competition to cooperation that arises when one discovers their soul purpose.
• Why shifting from the materialist paradigm (which sees reality as dead, mechanistic, and measurable) to an animate paradigm (which experiences reality as alive, relational, and participatory) is the very ground of a regenerative future.
• And, perhaps most importantly — how magic happens when we live as conduits for the web of life.

Why the Third Attractor Requires Developmental Maturity

What is often overlooked in discussions of the Third Attractor is that these attractors are not just societal — they reflect developmental stages in us as humans.

• The First Attractor mirrors the shadow of the concrete tier: tribal survivalism, conformist behavior, unprocessed fear of the “other.”
• The Second Attractor mirrors the shadow of the early subtle tier: expert/achiever identities, competitive growth at all costs, and blindness to long-term consequences.

When these shadows remain unexamined, they play out at civilizational scale — producing either regression to archaic tribalism, or collapse through unchecked industrial competition.

To truly inhabit the Third Attractor, we must metabolize these shadows and evolve into later stages of development:

• Whole and sovereign, no longer fragmented or hijacked by rivalrous games.
• Omni-considerate, oriented beyond self-interest to choices that serve all beings across time.
• Regeneratively creative, innovating from abundance rather than fear.
• Cosmically attuned, alive to the animate, interconnected reality we truly inhabit.
